In hindsight, I should have kept away from Garavel Subaru when I first spoke with them. I called on a car that I had seen on a website, but the CarFax reported that it was in an accident. I asked Garavel about what the nature of the accident is, but they couldn't tell me (but they ASSURED me that they don't straighten frames, so it wasn't that bad). So, I still have no idea what happened to my car. It could have been a fender-bender....or it might not have. Taking the car for a test-drive, I should have resisted the salesman's pressure to put a deposit down TODAY and such. But, I didn't. I should have also inspected the vehicle thoroughly before offering to buy it, because (of course) when I handed over the check and went outside to put my plates on, we noticed numerous problems (this was, of course, after waiting an hour to be seen, and then another hour or two to get the paperwork done). The vehicle was billed as a Subaru Certified Used Vehicle, but I joke (bitterly) that the only thing certified about it is that, yes, it is indeed used. The vehicle featured numerous pieces of "road rash" which, while it may be expected in a used vehicle, should have been caught by point 135 and 144 of the Subaru Certified Vehicle checklist. They seemed fairly unwilling to fix it, and eventually acceded to putting some touch-up paint on it (which is quite visible). I was having difficulty seeing out of my windshield during rain, so I assumed that they didn't carry out point 24 ("Windshield wipers and washer front/ rear check"). Of course, I can't be sure if they did replace the wiper blades, because the windshield is so filthy that I'm strongly considering having it replaced entirely. Upon driving the vehicle home for the first time, I noticed a rhythmic vibration in the car, which turned out to be a bad wheel bearing. If they took it on the highway (as you figure they would do to satisfy point 101), they would have noticed it. The tread on the tires still does not look good, but they assured me that it was within parameters (I'm waiting for a tire to go so I can replace the whole lot). Last, while not covered by the Subaru Certified Vehicle checklist, the battery in my vehicle was going bad. The entire experience reeks of a sales staff that received a car and attempted to get it out the door as quickly as possible, without allowing the service people the proper opportunity to do their job. The only good thing about Garavel Subaru, in my opinion, is Gregg Cantandella and the bulk of his service crew. Gregg himself is a customer-conscious professional who is empathetic to customer needs, and has a "can-do" attitude. The bulk of his service crew have a similar focus. The sales, and sales-support staff, though, do not seem to have the same focus, and committed numerous flubs that damaged my opinion of Garavel Subaru. Multiple times a week I tell myself that I should have gone with another car from another dealership.

This is my second Subaru that I bought from this dealership and I went back because they have always been friendly and fair with me. The staff is very professional and let me do things at my pace without a lot of pressure. Everyone has always been very knowledgable about their merchandise and what they have to offer. I worked with Don Hill for my second purchase and he was wonderful. He walked me through the process slowly and thoroughly and made it a pleasant experience. He did not make me feel pressured to buy, but when I made my choice, he went above and beyond to make sure I got what I wanted and be delivered! I would recommend this dealership and Don to my friends.

I was very impressed with the helpfulness, knowledge, and overall friendliness of Miles Shapiro. He was extremely patient especially when I had to keep rescheduling the appointment, and when I finally arrived, I was seen right away, and he went to work on what I was looking for in a new car and the great deal he could offer me. He was willing to be fair and work with my pricing needs and wants for a new car. So much in fact, that I am actually paying less for the new car that I am leasing then what I was paying beforehand. He also had an awesome sense of humor which is always great when signing a ridiuclous amount of paperwork. I have been leasing Subaru's from this dealership for almost ten years now, and Miles Shapiro was definitely memorable and I would highly reccomend him to anyone looking to buy a new car.

I always have a great experience when I take my car in to be serviced at Garavel Subaru. Employees are friendly and recommend services once and are not "pushy" if I decide not to do the recommended service. For example, I declined to have my power steering fluid replaced while my car was in for a 30,000 mile service due to the amount of money I was spending on the major service. They also gave me a loaner car for the day so I was not inconvenienced while my car was in for service.

The team is very customer centric. Service is fast and convenient. All of the service people I have met are friendly and helpful. They provide shuttle to office/home when you drop off car and in some situations provide loaner car. I have my car serviced here regularly and it runs great. The Service Manager has been very fair/helpful in working with me to address a chronic problem with the emission system in my car (nothing to do with the work of the dealer; a fluke mechanical issue with my car).

My Fiance and I were looking for a good safe reliable vehicle so decided to go with Subaru down the street from us! We walked in and the first person to greet us was a nice older gentleman by the name of Don. He was very experienced, kind, and also very engaged...which is something you dont see often now a days. Through the process of getting our Legacy, him, as well as Trevor Cheney everyone else not only supported us, but kept us positive since we are first time car buyers. Hands down, Garavel Subaru is worth it, even if its out of your way, to get your new or used car. These guys really go out of their way to help out...even to bring you to town hall to straighten out DMV bull$#!^. THANKS GUYS!!!!

Don explained and preformed exactly what was needed in order to get my Subaru running like it should again. The repair was much less costly then I thought when the issues first appeared. Don took the car for a test drive and made sure it preformed the way it should before handing it back to me. Can't say enough about the level of detail. Thanks to Don and the crew at Subaru.

Garavel Subaru provided excellent service today. I called this morning to report an indicator light was intermittedly lighting up. The receptionist suggested I come right over so they could evaluate what the issue was. When I arrived the service writer told me they would have the problem diagnosed in 20 minutes. Within 20 Minutes I was given the diagnosis, (which was that I needed all new brakes) and that they were able to correct the issue right away if I wanted. In addition they provided me with a loaner car so I could continue on with my day. I was told the car would be ready by 12:30 and it was. And finally at pick up I was pleasantly surprised that my car had been detailed. Overall it was a very positive experience. The staff was pleasant, courteous, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the Garavel Subaru Service department to other Subaru owners.

Subaru is trustworthy and my family goes there for all our car needs so prices should be lower. You should have a family and friends discount.
